Young and Ripe tells the story in poetry of Ann's early years -- from childhood through young adulthood. Growing up as the daughter of a career military man, her life was segmented by moves, which created both a sense of wanderlust and the yearning for a place to call home. According to the poet Janice Moore Fuller, Ann's poems remind "the reader that true grace comes in embracing 'something wild' ...."
